The Tang Dao: The Ancestor of the Katana

Before the curve of the Katana defined the Samurai, the straight edge of the Tang Dao (唐刀) ruled the East. Originating from China's Golden Age—the Tang Dynasty (618–907 AD)—this legendary straight sword traveled across the sea to Japan, becoming the direct prototype of the Samurai sword (Chokuto).

Known for its narrow, straight, single-edged blade and long handle, the Tang Dao is a masterpiece of speed, penetration, and imperial aesthetic. It bridges the gap between Chinese heritage and Samurai tradition, offering a unique "Tactical Elegance" that is unmatched in history.
